Social Innovation and Global Ethics Forum

SIGEF is an annual international event that gathers non-profit organizations, renowned speakers, social entrepreneurs and the general public in Geneva, Switzerland, for three days of dialogue and interaction. It features exhibition areas, plenary sessions, workshops, a cultural hub and a projects showcase.

The first edition was held last year and hosted more than 2,500 participants and over 50 organizations from all over the world. SIGEF 2015 will take place Oct. 23-25 at Bâtiment des Forces Motrices and will have a far broader scope and international exposure. The event is expected to involve 5,000 participants and 50 media partners, and reach over 80 million people.

All over the world, areas such as social empowerment, job opportunities, gender equality, business ethics, and equal access to water, education, housing and health services need immediate attention. It is pivotal that their local implications and responses be identified, showcased, assessed and debated to best achieve global social good through concrete actions.

The eight plenary sessions are as follows: “Impact Investment: Accelerating Sustainable Growth,” “Media & the Internet: New Beginnings,” “Social Entrepreneurship: Forging the Future,” “Food & Agriculture: The Necessary Adaptation,” “Transnational Scientific Cooperation for Social Impact,” “Technological Evolution for Social Good,” “Culture & the Arts: Inspiration for Creative Interaction” and “Youth for Social Change.”

SIGEF 2015 will focus on proposing effective solutions to shape the better times to come.
